The Bryan Liew Foundation was established in September 2014.
Its goal is to provide for the development of sporting and athletic facilities in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. More specifically, the Foundation is targetting the construction of a synthetic outdoor running track for the region. To read the minutes of the BLF: MINUTES.
Bryan Liew
(1970-2013)
Born in 1970 and resident of Saint-Lazare since 2003, Bryan Liew profoundly influenced athletes across the region. As coach for the Hudson/Saint-Lazare Running and Athletics Club and Westwood Junior High School Athletics Club, Bryan gave generously to the community and his infectious enthusiasm drew many to the sport. In addition to preparing numerous young athletes for high-level competition, he gave invaluable assistance to runners recovering from injuries or overcoming other challenges in their lives. Beyond running, Bryan had the ability to make people believe in themselves and accomplish things that at first seemed impossible.
2876, chemin St-Louis
Saint-Lazare
The 5km race route traces the roads of the magnificent Saddlebrook area of St-Lazare. There will be small ponds and many beautifully wooded streets. As a motivational aid, you will twice pass by musicians playing for your pleasure on the side of the race route. The 10km course consists a little more than one lap of the track and then two laps of the 5km race route.
Our young athletes will run a 1 km route starting in front of the park on Westwood Street and will finish at the start/finish arch on the track next to the chalet.
The 2 km race route is a loop starting and finishing at the Westwood park and passing by Evergreen elementary school.
The "Bouts de Chou" race for our littlest ones will take place on the Bryan Liew track. It will be one lap of 400 meters.
